03 Free and Pro
Free is the whole recorder, not a sample of it. Every format, every bitrate, the microphone, your own file names. One limit: 30 minutes per recording, with no cap on how many.
Pro one-time

- Recordings of any length
- Separate tracks — with the microphone on, your voice is saved as its own file beside the system audio, the same length to the sample
- Trim silence from the start and the end — automatically, or with a button on a recording you already have. Pauses inside the recording stay where they are.
- Even out the volume of a recording that came out too quiet — before or after the fact. An already-loud one is left alone, and your original file is never changed.
- Record one app — the call without your music. Windows 10 version 2004 or newer
Paddle takes the payment and asks for your email. That address is the one Pro is attached to — install SoundClaw, sign in with it, and Pro is already there. You can also buy from inside the app, which comes to the same thing.

05 Questions
Is there a Mac version?
Not yet, and we would rather say that plainly than list macOS and hope. The audio capture is written against Windows; the macOS equivalent is a different piece of work that has not been done.
Will it record a call?
Yes — the other person comes through your speakers, so it is part of what the computer is playing. Turn the microphone on to capture your side too. Pro can save the two as separate files.
Recording other people may need their consent where you live. That part is yours to get right.
Does it record everything, or just one app?
Everything, by default. Pro can narrow it to a single program — so a call is recorded without the music you have playing and without your notifications. That needs Windows 10 version 2004 or newer.
Do I need to install a virtual audio cable?
No. That is the usual answer elsewhere and it is the thing this exists to avoid — a driver to install, an output device to switch, and a setup to undo afterwards.
Where do my recordings go?
To your Music folder by default, or anywhere you choose. They stay on your disk. Nothing is uploaded — there is no endpoint on our server that accepts audio, which is a fact about the software rather than a promise about our behaviour.
Can I fix a recording after making it?
Yes, with Pro. Whether a take came out too quiet, or started a long way before the sound did, is not something anyone knows beforehand — so trimming and levelling are also a button on any recording in the list, not only a setting decided in advance.
The result is saved as a new file beside the original, and the original is never touched. For MP3 and OGG the copy is compressed a second time, which costs a little quality; the app says so before it does it.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. One payment, yours for good, on up to three computers. Payment is handled by Paddle, who are the merchant of record; card details never pass through the app.
